Following surgery to his knee immediately after his World Title defence last September,Junior has been slowly rebuilding his fitness, strength and power.
" I was advised to take 8 weeks off training which for me was unheard off after 2 weeks I get bored. But at the level I am at you have to listen to the experts so I have been working back into it slowly. The knee specialist gave me the OK to resume full training at the end of last November and in December I was back into it at my training camp in Gran Canaria.Fifteen of the lads from the gym came out and the buzz was there straight away, the knee feels good and its great to be back."

Hopefully now Junior will be ready to fight in the next few months all being well. But it was a knee injury that put his stablemate Johnny Nelson into retirement, how much does this play on his mind?

"Johnny's problem was different to mine and much more complicated,I just had a clean up up around the joint,Johnny had snapped tendons. But so far everything is going to plan and the knee feels good.Maybe I will be fighting in the States in March but I am leaving that to my manager John Ingle and promoter Mick Hennessy to sort out."
