7th Round Heaven For Junior
07/09/07
Junior Witter silenced his critics tonight with a 7th round demolition of former WBA World Champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris.
After a tentative opening round by both fighters Witter upped the ante in the second round and slowly began to apply the pressure. He bombarded Harris for the remainder of the round but was reminded (by way of a straight right hand) that Harris was still a force to be reckoned with as the blow bounced off the Champions chin.

Harris tried to change the direction of the fight in round three and began to force the pace until an orthodox straight right followed by a southpaw switch left hook clipped Harris on the chin and once again Witter was in charge.By round four it seemed the Champion had the challengers number and dropped him with a double right hand, the second blow deemed by the referee to be a push and was ruled a no knockdown. Harris was dragged to his feet by the referee but this was to be short lived as Witter moved him around the ring before dropping the challenger once again for an eight count with a long left hook.
Harrris survived the forth and came out for the fifth like he had weathered the storm with the pace slowing Harris began to find a little more success than the earlier rounds. A slashing left hook to the body soon put an end to any thought Harris had of winning the round as Junior held him off with counter hooks and uppercuts.

Harris had settled by the sixth an once again forged forward although Witter was still clipping him with snappy shots,Harris did manage to land some of his own.The action was even with Harris finishing the round off well and catching Witter with a jolting right as the bell sounded.By round seven Harris seemed to have fresher legs and came out aggressively, sensing that Witter might be tiring he was on the attack and looking to unload. Both fighters traded blows,Harris with straight rights and lefts,Witter with hooks and uppercuts. Backing Witter towards the Champions corner Harris clipped Witter with a straight right but it was a solid left hook that sent Witter into the ropes. Harris moved in for the finish but a left hook right hand clippped his chin as the Champion turned the advancing Challenger into the home corner. Harris turned quickly launching a right hand but Witter countered instinctively with a left hook from the southpaw stance flush on the jaw of the challenger. As the mouthpiece of Harris spun into orbit Witter connected with a right hook which bounced of the temple of Harris during his descent to the canvas. The referee began the count but it was a formality,Harris clung to the bottom rope as the count neared nine the referee waved it off.

"And still the WBC Superlightweight Champion of the World Junior the Hitter Witter."
