Well done Siddy
27/05/07

Junior was the first to congratulate stablemate and fellow Bradford fighter Nadeem "Golden Boy"Siddique,on his 4th round KO of southpaw Tye Williams for the Central Area and British Masters Welterweight Title.
It was a sell out crowd at the Hilton Hotel in Bradford as Siddy delighted his fans after 13 months out of the ring with an almost Floyd Mayweatheresque performance .Williams forced the pace as the aggressor but Siddy slipped and blocked, rolled an counter punched through each attack.Williams came under heavy fire in the fourth and was dropped with a flurry of punches before rising on unsteady feet,Siddique was quick to capitalize and a crushing right cross dropped Williams heavily on the canvas, the referee needed no count and waved the fight over immediately.

"It was a good performance from Sid but nothing less than I expected,we have been in training camp in Gran Canaria at the Anfi Del Mar complex since the 14th of May for a week of intense workouts. Its not easy and Sid has been pushed all the way with the lads in the team,he has had top class sparring with Mushen Nasser, former British Welterweight Champion Chris Saunders( both southpaws) and myself which has been good for him.The hard work has paid off and the doubters silenced for now."

The undercard featured all Braford fighters

  • Khurram Hussain bt Peter Dunn 40-35
  • Femi Fehintola bt Carl Allen 60-54
  • Mo Khalid drew Robert Nelson 57-57
